"Katey taught me to be mindful of my movement such as making me think about where I feel the movement is coming from and what's helping me transition between steps. This note sticks with me today and truly helped improve stability, movement quality, and made me feel more in tune with my body. All of her knowledge about the body helped me improve as a dancer, as well as, helped me cope with shin splints, hip apophysitis and back issues. I recall one time at a convention when I tweaked my upper back. Once Katey worked on it for a few minutes, I was back to normal and could dance for the rest of the busy weekend."

"I'm Caitlyn Gund and currently am a Davidson athlete @ Davidson College in North Carolina. I have played sports my entire life at a very high, competitive level. With that, I am sore constantly but have been lucky enough to use Katey's massage services for years. They are extremely helpful for my healing and recovery process. She has a variety of skills to fix any sore or injured area of the body. I would highly recommend using her services if you want to feel relaxed, stretched and recovered from your workouts!"

"Bodywork is amazing!! It's not just a massage, it's so much more! Bodywork focuses on areas that need extra work or help. From age 3-18, I was a gymnast and a dancer. Dancing 10+ hours every week, my body had lots of stress on it. Going into my bodywork session my hips were uneven and different levels, my back was tight, and my whole body was strained. After my bodywork session, my body felt back in place, my legs felt longer, and I stood up straighter. Not to mention, I am 5 foot 2, so feeling tall is a BIG deal! Regular massage feels good afterwards but it doesn't necessarily correct functionality. Bodywork strengthens me and makes me feel better!"

"My daughter has been under Katey's instruction for 7 years. The growth we have seen in our daughter, in both ability and character, has been remarkable. Katey's ability to understand each dancer, their strengths, weaknesses and ambitions enables her to challenge each to be their best. We couldn't ask for a better teacher and mentor for our daughter."

  • B. Harris

"Katey has been my daughter's dance instructor for 10 + years. Her knowledge and experience in the dance world, combined with her massage therapy training, has always given me confidence in her ability to train my daughter in a way that will help prevent injury. As the parent of a child who trains several hours each week, I worry about the toll it takes on her body. The bodywork sessions with Katey have given my daughter immediate relief. In addition to the actual massage work, Katey provided information and tools that my daughter can do on her own when she feels tightness or pain to try to get relief and maintain her physical health."

"I really look forward to my bodywork sessions with Miss Katey. She is so knowledgeable and has taught me how to better care for myself through stretching and massage. Not only has she helped me prevent injury, she's helped me recover when I've overdone it. Her passion is to help people feel their best, to be able to perform their best. I'm so thankful to have her in my corner!"

  • E. Lovellette

"As a competitive dancer, I have been working to straighten my knees completely, but I was never quite able to achieve the level of straightness I was looking for. I had tried numerous stretches from online. Although they helped, I had hit a plateau and I wasn't where I wanted to be. Whilst working with Katey, she noticed that I had tightness in my IT band. She used several massage techniques to lengthen and relax it. Afterwards, we re-evaluated my legs and I could not only see but feel a difference in how straight my knees were. Additionally, she gave me some suggestions on what I could do at home to maintain this flexibility."

"In one twenty minute session with Katey I felt a significant improvement. My Achilles have been bothering me for a while and are a very precious area for a dancer. There's not a lot I can personally do for them, but Katey has the research and solutions to help me. It is so difficult to find massage therapists and physical therapists that cater to dancers. Often we are lumped in with sports but dance is different. I am so happy that I have found someone who understands my art form and can help my body heal and perform better."
